Through the Caledonian Canal it also connects to Loch Ness. It is an ancient city where, in the 11th Century Mac Bethard Mac Findlaigh killed King Duncan providing the basis for Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The River Ness runs though the city and such is its livable nature that you can fish for Atlantic salmon from two wooded islands situated in the middle of the river. Isle of Skye

When approached with the offer to spend time in a country that perfected the deep fat batter frying of a Mars Bar you might have some qualms; but fear not.
