Lake Malawi/Pumulani

Malawi is a small land locked country surrounded by Zambia, Tanzania and Mozambique. The Country is known as the warm heart of Africa, with friendly people, dazzling scenery, game parks, sandy beaches and a great abundance of marine and birdlife. The country is dominated by Lake Malawi, Africa's third largest lake, which runs along part of the Great Rift Valley. Described by David Livingstone as the "Lake of Stars" Lake Malawi is almost 400 miles long and home to more than a thousand species of fish.

Majete Wildlife Reserve/ Mkulumadzi Lodge

Majete is one of Malawi’s largest protected areas covering an area of 175,000 acres and located about 42 miles south west of Blantyre, the country’s capital. The reserve is located within the Miombo woodland ecoregion and much of the higher lying areas in the west of the park are dominated by Miombo/Brachystegia woodland. Set in 17,000 acres of private concession, Mkulumadzi enjoys an ideal location at the confluence of two rivers just a few miles from where the magnificent Shire River plunges into the Kapichara Falls.

Stalking in Zambia, Snorkeling in Malawi

If you like to combine some athletic pursuits while exploring a particular destination we have designed this experience to do just that. While many programs involving athletics are high intensity and tend to leave some members of the group as bystanders, we offer participation to all. You will start out at inspiring Victoria Falls where we offer a walking tour around the falls and a leisurely cruise on the Zambezi River. For the more adventurous you can fly over the falls in an ultra light, bungee jump or swim in a rock pool literally feet from the drop of the falls. These activities are purely optional however. Next you move to South Luangwa National Park where you stay in the former country retreat of the President of Zambia. This area is known for its walking safaris and each day you have the opportunity to participate. You can however opt for game drives by vehicle or boat depending on your mood. You then drive to the small country of Malawi which is mainly comprised of Lake Malawi one of Africa’s largest lakes with crystal clear water and a spectacular shoreline. This is an ideal location for snorkeling. Imagine the Great Barrier Reef with fresh water and no sharks. The more advanced can also opt for Scuba diving. Who says that you can’t have it all?

Kalahari Desert, Zambezi River and Lake Malawi
