Tranquil Ryokans exist in one part of the country while neon saturated cities inhabit another part and in many cases the distance between both is not great. It will open up a whole new perspective into the Japanese culture especially as you share this enlightenment with a select group of chosen friends.

Maybe it started with Benihana and those entertaining chefs with their flashing knives and unlimited quantities of butter or maybe it was Ramen noodles from student days or most likely the pandemic of sushi restaurants starting with a Japanese theme but now covering all Asian restaurants from Thai to Chinese; no matter the origin, America has absorbed Japanese food into its culture but, as with “Mexican”, much of what we eat is a far from the authentic cuisine of the country. Food in Japan is not just sustenance but an art form which is not to say that the Japanese are above eating street foods on the run but even that food is fresh, made from the healthiest ingredients and well balanced.
