Destinations Offered > Croatia

Dubrovnik

4 Days:$1,639 per person based on a minimum of two and a maximum six guests. Add additional Interludes to create your perfect European vacation.

Dubrovnik is often referred to as the “Pearl of the Adriatic’ for its famous walled city reaching to the water’s edge. Inside the walls once lived a major trading and maritime power named Ragusa that in its day rivaled Venice. Today the narrow streets with their quaint shops and restaurants once again rival Venice but this time for tourists. This is a delightful city that is fun to explore on your own but a knowledgeable guide to lead the way makes the stay all the more rewarding

Split and Hvar

4 Days:$1,621 per person based on a minimum of two and a maximum of six guests. Add additional Interludes to create your perfect European vacation.

During this interlude you get the chance to experience two aspects of Croatian life on the Adriatic Coast. Split is reported to have been established by the Greeks and given the name Aspalathos but its confirmed starting point is 305AD when a large waterfront palace, built at his request, was occupied by the Roman Emperor Diocletian, one of the few Emperors to actually retire from the position. Today the palace still serves as the center of the old city with squares, markets and narrow streets filled with shops. The nearby island of Hvar was once a major wine exporter and grew lavender and rosemary for the French perfume industry. Today it is focused on tourism and is consistently rated as one of the top ten island destinations by Conde Nast Traveler. "I know paradise now, I know Hvar", goes the local saying and we think you will agree.

Zagreb

4 Days:$1,375 per person based on a minimum of two and a maximum of six guests. Add additional Interludes to create your perfect European vacation.

In the middle ages, Zagreb was made up of two separate towns, each on a hill and divided by a river much like Buda and Pest are divided by the Danube today. In those days the town of Kapitol was in the East and Gradec in the West. Over time the river dried up and the only reminder of the former river is a street called Tkalciceva which links one former town with the other. Zagreb flourished in the 19th Century as a major city in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the baroque architecture reflects this. Today the city has close to a million inhabitants and combines old world charm but a culture dominated by the youthful population of the city

A short trip into Slovenia brings you into Croatia one of the hottest destinations in Europe and justifiably so. You will visit Opatija the former playground of the Austro-Hungarian Aristocracy then on to split and Hvar before culminating your trip in the pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik.
