Iguassu Falls

The noted falls of South America are shared by three countries, Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. The Argentinians and the Paraguayans refer to them as Iguazu in Spanish whereas the Brazilians use Portuguese to describe Iguassu Falls. Most people visit from either the Argentinian or Brazilian sides although it is easy to do both. The Argentinian side is larger but the Brazilian side has the Iguassu National Park which adds a rainforest dimension. On this program you will be staying at a former colonial mansion just a short stroll from the falls and the only hotel located within the Iguassu National Park.

Salvador, the capital of the state of Bahia, was the capital of the country until 1763. The city, without a doubt, keeps in touch with its African roots and traditions with respect to its cuisine, religion, and artwork. It is divided into two parts. The “Lower City” is at sea level and is where the city´s original port and commercial area are found. The “Upper City” is reached by alleyways, stone steps or the famous Lacerda elevator. This part of the city is where the majority of museums, churches, modern architecture and the Pelourinho neighborhood are located.

Ponta dos Ganchos is situated in Santa Catarina in southern Brazil, 25 miles from Florianopolis.
